Magwall NZ SIP panels

The wall, reinvented.

Imagine living in a quiet, dry home with clean air and an even, comfortable temperature,
no matter the time of year.

Structurally Insulated Panels, or SIP panels, are a modern alternative to outdated traditional framing and wall construction techniques.

SIP panels are a building panel made from an insulated layer sandwiched between two structural outer layers.

Not all SIP panels are built equal. Magwall NZ have chosen to manufacture SIP panels from magnesium sulfate board and expanded polystyrene (EPS), making them fire, mould, water and impact resistant with excellent insulation properties.

The construction and design of Magwall NZ SIP panels allows for complete, continuous insulation throughout your home, which will not sag or degrade over time like other insulation materials will.

The ultimate living experience

Standard New Zealand homes can be damp, allowing mould and mildew to grow which can cause respiratory health problems. Homes built with Magwall NZ SIP panels are much warmer and drier than standard homes.

During the construction of your home, Magwall NZ SIP panels are sealed, creating an airtight environment. When combined with the use of an Energy Recovery Ventilation System (ERV) you will have full control over the air flow and temperature of your home.

An ERV keeps the air in your home clean and warm by drawing fresh air in and pumping stale air out, while exchanging heat from the outgoing air to the incoming air. This process stops dust, pollen and other airborne particles from entering your home.

An impressive insulator

The R value is the measure of an insulation materials resistance to conductive heat flow. The higher the R value, the greater the resistance.

In New Zealand, minimum building standards require insulation materials used in the walls of a timber framed house to have an R value of either 2.2 or 2.4 depending which zone you are in, and 1.6 for the floor.

The R value of a Magwall NZ SIP panel made with 140mm of standard EPS in a 165mm wall panel is 3.68. This is well above the New Zealand minimum standards and much more appropriate for the New Zealand climate.

The R value of standard insulation products can be reduced over time by temperature, ageing and moisture. Magwall NZ SIP panels are generally unaffected by humidity and temperature, meaning their R value will remain consistent over your homes lifetime.

Environmentally friendly energy savings

MagWall NZ SIP panels are a naturally environmentally friendly product. Homes built with Magwall NZ SIP panels are extremely energy efficient and airtight, with homeowners enjoying 40-90 percent lower power bills.

Magwall NZ SIPS are fully recyclable, have less construction waste and can even be reused if homeowners want to make changes or renovations in the future.

A better sound barrier

The insulation properties of Magwall NZ SIP panels not only stop heat transfer, they also reduce sound transfer.

Your ears will thank you!

Strong and fire resistant

Magwall NZ SIP panels are incredibly strong, exceeding NZ building standards.

Our SIP panels are made using a Magnesium Oxide board, which is highly resistant to flames, and does not spread flames or smoke.

Maximise the benefits of your new building by using, Magwall NZ SIP panels.

Building with Magwall NZ SIP panels alongside traditional timber framing is possible, however timber framing acts as a thermal bridge, transferring heat between the interior and exterior of your home.

Combining Magwall NZ SIP panels with TSTUD Framing is the solution to this problem, and when used together will give you the most energy efficient structure for your home. Ask us about TSTUD Framing today!
